Registration of Adopted Russian Children at the Consulate

In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, Russian children adopted by foreign citizens must be registered at the Consulate. To register your child, please submit the following documents:

  • written application for registration, indicating your full name, date and place of birth, and phone numbers;
  • original Russian passport your child used to enter the country. (Once the Consulate receives all documents we shall put a registration stamp in your child's passport, as a confirmation that your child has been registered with the Consulate. After that the passport will be mailed back to you);
  • one passport-size picture of your child;
  • notary certified copies of American passports of parents;
  • notary certified copy of Russian adoption certificate;
  • notary certified copy of Russian birth certificate (issued after adoption)
  • prepaid envelope Express-mail or FedEx (if you have FedEx account number). Please note that we do not accept cash or any other checks.
